I have loved reading bloggers round-up posts the past two weeks, so I wanted to write a few of my own. I did a lot of travelling with my boyfriend, as well as friends and family in 2016. My Europe trip was the highlight of the year, but the smaller weekend trips were great in their own way too. Here’s a look back at all the places I visited in 2016, and my short-list for places i’d like to visit in 2017:
San Diego
My first time to San Diego as an adult, and it rained a ton. Boyfriend and I went down for a friend’s birthday, so we didn’t do a ton of exploring. We did make it to downtown San Diego for some bar hopping, and I had my first California burrito (and loved it of course). Definitely need to go back when it’s summer!
Portland
My first time visiting Portland, and for some reason I didn’t expect it to be so rainy, whoops! BF and I went to a wine tasting, the Zoo, Powell’s Books, OMSI, enjoyed many food trucks, and generally just wandered around. I’d love to explore the mountains around Portland sometime, maybe when it’s not raining.
Amsterdam/London/Iceland
Of course my favorite trip of the year, but how can you beat it? We spent 4 days in Amsterdam, 4 in London and 4 in Iceland. Iceland was my favorite because we were able to relax after being hot and cramped in London. Check out my blogs for my favorite things we did in Amsterdam, London and Iceland!
Santa Monica
We went to Santa Monica on a last-minute trip just to get away. We just relaxed and did a little shopping at the Promenade. We did go to the beach one day, but the fog was so thick, you couldn’t see 20 feet in front of you!
Mammoth Lakes

Went with my parents to Mammoth Lakes, California for the first time and it was absolutely stunning. It was a great weekend exploring nature and just relaxing. We saw Devil’s Post Pile, a few falls, did a little fishing and some light hiking. Would love to go here during the winter sometime.
Pinecrest

Pinecrest has been my family’s go-to summer spot since my mom was a kid. It’s a small lake just a few hours outside the Bay Area. This year my friends rented a cabin (and a boat) and just relaxed for a weekend. It was a cheap and easy getaway, especially for a large group of 20-somethings.
Jenner/Sonoma Coast
The Sonoma coast is absolutely gorgeous. We spent a long weekend exploring the coast, Jenner and Guerneville. We didn’t get to kayak on the Russian river, but if you’re ever in the area, you should give it a try. It was very windy along the coast, so be prepared for that.
Boston
We went to Boston in October expecting gorgeous fall colors – but the trees were almost all still green! Still, it was a great trip and gorgeous city. We toured the Red Sox stadium, strolled the Harvard campus, walked the Freedom Trail and ate a lot of oysters. I will put together my Travel Top 5 for Boston soon!
Disneyland
Our final trip of 2017 was to Disneyland! I love Disneyland, but haven’t gone very much since becoming and adult. I’m glad I was able to ride Tower of Terror one more time before it closed, and the updated Soarin’ is amazing!
Looking forward to 2017
