Blog Love: Furniture Build & Design

So I have been hard at work on my DIY furniture for the past few weekends and I am proud and excited to say it is coming along very nicely! I would not have been able to accomplish my goal of building my own furniture with out my boyfriend, dad and some excellent bloggers.

During the planning process of designing and learning how to actually build the things I wanted, I watched a ton of YouTube videos and read a lot of blogs. Here are a few of my new go-to YouTubers and Bloggers for anything building/design related:

Modern Builds

I decided to make most of my furniture in a mid-century modern style. The furniture Mike of Modern Builds makes was a huge inspiration and I find his videos very informative and fun!

Steve Ramsey

Steve was my go-to resource for information about how tools work and what to use them for. He has a whole video series on wood working basics which I highly recommend.

The Sorry Girls

Becky and Kelsey of The Sorry Girls created a simple DIY nightstand which really gave me the idea to create my own furniture. They are a fun DIY duo who do projects big and small.

For design and style, I found most of my inspiration from two sources:

I Spy DIY

I’ve followed Jenni for a while, but I didn’t really pay close attention until I found out she has her own pilot on HGTV for a home flipping show! I love HGTV and anything DIY so I knew she would be a great source of inspiration and a great blogger to keep closer tabs on.

Studio McGee

I stumbled across the Studio McGee on Youtube while looking for design ideas and I was instantly hooked. Their home tours are gorgeous and inspiring, and offer great styling tips.

Do you have any favorite YouTubers or Bloggers for DIY ? Let me know so I can check them out!
