You’re going to love this…

Gals, the new Pinterest search tools are going to change your life! I didn’t know I could be so excited for a search engine, but here I am! This gets a special blog post because I am that excited about it! Okay okay, maybe I’m a little more excited because I am a social media manager, but let me explain and you’ll see what I mean.

You can read all about the new features rolling out from Pinterest itself, but what it doesn’t cover is the new search tool in the Chrome browser extension.

If you don’t have the Pinterest Chrome extension, you can get it here. With this, when you hover over images with your mouse, the Pinterest save icon will pop up allowing you to pin that image. You can also right-click the image and save it that way too. With the update, there should also be a small search icon next to the save icon.

If you select the search icon, you’ll see a Pinterest search with images from Pinterest similar to that image (!!!!). You can select only portions of the image and it will show you like images for your selection.

For images that don’t have the search icon, you can right click and select “search” in the drop-down menu which will allow you to search for images similar to that page. This is useful for searching like images on Instagram on your desktop.

Well what do you think?! Is this not an awesome feature? The new Pinterest Lens feature is also rolling out soon which allows you to take a picture and search Pinterest for similar images!
I use Pinterest on desktop every day for work and for personal use, so this is going to make a huge difference in how I search for images. This can be very useful for wedding planning and home decor inspiration.
What do you think about the new feature?
