Travel Top 5: Chicago

This post is long overdue seeing as how I went to Chicago in October 2015! Chicago was a wonderful city, and I loved the 3 days I spent exploring the downtown area. Of course there were plenty of places I didn’t see or experience, but here are my top 5 favorite experiences (sorry I don’t have more pictures):

Shaw’s Crab House (Oyster Bar)

We went to Shaw’s and ate at the Oyster bar portion of the restaurant. They served the best oyster’s I have ever eaten. Our waitress was very smart and friendly which made the experience that much better. If you love Oyster’s go here and then tell me i’m right.

Sight Seeing Cruise

I love going on bay cruises in every new city we visit. It’s nice to see the skyline and get a little history while relaxing and taking in the sights. I don’t remember which tour we went on, but it was just around the lake.

Howl at the Moon

We went here on a Saturday night, and boy was this place rockin’ (It also happened to be during post-season baseball and the cubs had won their game that night). They have dueling pianos which is something I had never seen before and it was fun and different.

Walk Chicago

We walked a lot in Chicago, but walking along the Riverwalk and Millenium park were my two favorites. I didn’t care for the shopping on the magnificent mile, so instead we walked the river and thru the park a few times. The water is very relaxing and it’s nice to get away from the city noises a little.

Deep Dish Pizza

I also fail because I can’t remember where we had deep dish, but it was amazing. I could only eat one slice though cause it was truly deep. Don’t skip deep dish when in Chicago.

Have you been to Chicago? What were your favorite experiences?

  1. I am going to go to Chicago and I liked all that you shared about where to go. I just don’t know when I am going to go, probably in early spring, I think that spring would be great to go there.
